 4 large baking apples, peeled and sliced (about 1 1/2 lb)
  cup brown sugar
  cup chopped nuts or raisins
 1 tsp cinnamon
 ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  cup butter or margarine, softened
  cup flour
  cup old fashioned or quick oats

In 8 or 9 inch round baking dish; layer 1/2 apples. Combine sugar, nuts, cinnamon and nutmeg; sprinkle 1/2 sugar mixture over apples. Top with remaining apples.
Into remaining sugar mixture, blend in butter, flour and oats; sprinkle over apples. Heat 4 to 5 minutes on HIGH or until apples are fork tender. Let stand 5 minutes; serve warm or cool.
